From the Captain's Table, April 2019

Hi and welcome to the April newsletter. Although not too many events on offer over April we still have found enough to show our presence with events like Xterra Rotorua, Hamilton 4 Seasons Run, Waitomo Trail Run of which I see Ben Lucas making a longer foray into off road running and had a great day, so may well see him back on trail at some point. Also Waterfront Half was on, great to see Lee and Heather supporting this event with the surprise of Norm turning up to join them. But HRR did well at the Mount with heap of placings and even a PB. Congratulations to you all.

Dinner Night – This Thursday 2nd May – Yes due to ANZAC Thursday, dinner night had been deferred. However, I hear that Kerin and the group 1 team have this well under control.

Rotorua Marathon – Yes This Saturday May 4 – If you still want to be part of the action – Step on this quick. Also big shout out to Lex Chalmers on his 20th Rotorua – all the best mate.

HRR Memorial Relay – Saturday 11 May - Please if all the club could be in their club running shirt at HRR club rooms at 7.15am for a professional photo shoot – (if you do not have a shirt we have some spares) – orders for the photos are now open and you can book these through Club Captain Neil. We will then convoy out past Dinsdale to the Taitua Arboretum for a fun club relay. Then we have a 1pm catered lunch – back at the HRR club rooms. Note - the club rooms will be open from 12pm. If you have not yet booked for lunch it is $20-00 for members and $35-00 for partners and friends – bookings can be given to Club Captain Neil and payment can be made to our bank account – 03 1555 0161275 00.

Hawkes Bay Marathon – Napier 18 May – Looks to be good numbers in the club interested and if you want to join a diverse group of athletes for a weekend away come on over for anything from 42km to 5 km distance.

Huntly Half – Sunday 26 May – Yes, an event every weekend in May – Is this fitness plus or what?

Dinner Night – Thursday 30 May – Yes, a 5-week month and convener Annette and Group 2 will be our hosts.

Up Coming – The Possum - 22 June a night off-roader in Taupo, this looks to be a brand new run and looks fun – check it out!!
